FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I submit my tracks?
Once you’ve completed payment, you will receive an
e-mail with upload instructions and contact info from
Universal Mixing Studios.
Once I submit my tracks, when will I receive
the mixes? How long will it take?
Turnaround time is 15 business days after you have
uploaded your files to the UMS eFolio folder.
I have a few specific ideas for the mix. Can I
discuss these with the mix engineer?
Absolutely! We suggest sending a detailed e-mail to
mixing@godistro.com. For example, you could request
things such as: “I want the electric guitars to
sound real aggressive” or “I’d like to hear a lot of
delay on the lead vocal at the end of the second
chorus.” You can also make reference to well known
songs for particular effects or even just the
general “vibe.” We’ll forward the information to the
engineer that’s working on your project and set up a
dialogue between you two.
After I receive the mix, can I make comments
or ask that something be changed?
Yes! An MP3 of the mix will be sent to you for
reference. The mix engineer will work with you to
address any changes or suggestions you have for the
mix. A second MP3 reference will then be sent to you
for approval before the mix is final. The mix
engineer will do everything possible (within reason)
to make sure you are happy with the mix! In the
unlikely event satisfaction can not be reached, you
will receive a full refund (NOTE: refunds will not
be given once you approve the final mix and the
final .WAV file is sent to you).
